MAKING DROIDS WITH PROUD

and some other stuff I love

Droid Making

Droid making means passion for electronics, software, 3D printing, painting and weathering

Electronic Design

Electronics gives you the opportunity to see your software bring stuff to life in the real world.

Software Design

Coding is the core for every project I made so I always pays special attention to code.

What motivates me?

Since I was a kid I dreamed about owning an R2 unit…

40 years later I started building it, and I have spend a lot of time looking for information about how to make a 100% screen accurate replica, and of course I spend literally hundred hours assembling my unit.

This travel took me to make custom hardware for my own R2-D2 trying to make it even better.

MY DOME (INSIDE)

After months of work my R2 dome it’s almost complete and running  and now integrates AstroComms Mega Shield

MY DOME (OUTSIDE)

This is my 3D printed dome and took me ages making it shine like a real R2 dome

AstroComms Mega Shield

The Astrocomms Mega Shield allows simultaneous connection and use of the Controller and the Smartphone app to trigger the Marcduino and Flthy Holoprojector System. Bevor that you had to decide if you want the app or the controller ‐ or use a switch to toggle between them.
Basically it just sits like an interpreter betweeen the Body Arduino (running Shadow MD), the Master Marcduino and the Flthy Holoboard. The Xbee is not longer directly connected to the Marcduino Master. It’s plugged into the Astrocomms Mega Shield.

Also the Flthy Holoboard is not longer connected to the Marcduino, it receives it’s commands from the Astrocomms.  It’s working in real time with no noticeable latency!

Pro version highlights:

– You don’t need an Arduino Mega
– Takes up less space
– You do not need the XBEE Shield
– LEDS and resistors are SMD
– It have an additional I2C port
– Looks even cooler- You don’t need an Arduino Mega
